My name is Roua’a Beish. I’m 20. And I’m from Damascus, the capital city of Syria. I drew this drawing about mother with her children in the war. In all countries, the mother goes to attend to the family’s needs, and when she comes back to her babies, she can give them sweets. But in my country when the mother comes back looking for her children under the rubble, she screams to them to get reassurance that they are alive. Her hand begins to search for them under the rocks to get the innocent souls out from under her, to gather her wounds and her children, and to go and leave everything behind.
