S.O.S Libya
During the nights of September the 10th & 11th of September 2023 in Libya, storm Daniel caused catastrophic flooding caused claiming the lives of over 5,000 people in the city of Derna. More than 700 people were injured, and 10,000 are still missing. A quarter of the city was swept away by the waters, which affected more than 1.8 million people.
Humanitarian needs exceed the capacities of the Libyan Red Crescent or the government. Once again, international and citizen mobilization is crucial to help those affected by this catastrophe.
