On December 7th, the SB OverSeas team in Lebanon began distributing the 20 tons of goods collected by our Brussels team during our autumn Clothes Campaign! It was not an easy task to carry out, especially due to the desolated areas in which displaced communities live. With the winter approaching and the cold and snow threatening to affect their health, the distribution was organised in time to deliver urgent humanitarian materials to keep them warm and enable them to bear the rough winter conditions.

Beginning in Beirut, where the shipment arrived, the donations were sorted in our Bukra Ahla centre, and then delivered to refugees living in Beirut, Saida, Bekaa and Arsal. In Arsal, the high altitude and greater levels of deprivation made the distribution both more difficult and more necessary, although two days’ work were enough to provide the people living there with the warm clothes, blankets and shoes they need.

With the help of paid workers, volunteers and local partners, the distribution was accomplished in just few days, reaching more than 20,000 refugee families. SB OverSeas is already looking ahead to its upcoming spring campaign, helping to keep refugees in Lebanon supplied with basic needs throughout the year!
