SB Overseas is looking for enthusiastic and capable volunteers to teach English and help run two of our schools and women’s training centres in Lebanon: one in Beirut and one in Saida (45 minutes south of Beirut).
The refugee children there need this remedial education in order to pass entry tests for the Lebanese public education system. Without access to public education, they risk missing out on an education permanently, and becoming a “lost generation”.
The women in our centres, meanwhile, find themselves in vulnerable situations, and have asked our team to provide them with English lessons in order to give them a new practical skill, and to empower them with the confidence that comes with learning a second language.
The programme will run from January 2018, and we are looking for volunteers to join us for placements of 2 months or more. Volunteers may apply for one of two branches of the programme:
- Branch A: full-time volunteering
- Branch B: volunteering and Arabic language course
If you are interested in applying, please first download and read through our programme FAQ. Once you have understood the terms and conditions of the programme, you can apply by clicking the button opposite, which will take you through to our online application form.
For more information about the programme, you can also check out the programme’s Facebook group, where you can find photos and updates from our centres in Lebanon, as well as the most up to date information on the application process.
If you have any questions that aren’t answered there, please also send these to firstname.lastname@example.org.
