Een tijdschrift gemaakt door vluchtelingen

Minuten verwijderd van de Libanese kust in Saida, in een incompleet gebouw dat ooit bestemd was om een universiteit te worden, werd het een schuilplaats voor de bewoners van een klein dorp die de oorlog in Syrië ontvluchtten. Ze namen dit gebouw als schuilplaats. Ze verwachtten er een of twee weken door te brengen voordat ze terug zouden gaan naar hun thuisland, omdat ze dicht bij hun geboortedorp wonen, maar helaas moesten ze jaren blijven terwijl ze zich probeerden aan te passen in dit incomplete bouwwerk.

To meet the needs of those displaced people, we inaugurate our center in Saïda which offers educational and empowerment classes for children and women. As for education, most of shelter students are registered in the public schools. Therefore, we deliver our non-formal education program and supports students in their school work by utilizing the Lebanese curriculum in all classes, including Arabic, English language, mathematics and homework support, as well as weekly science classes, PSS activities, and life skills classes.

The Empowerment program targets the youth and women by providing courses in Arabic and English languages to improve their communication skills, as well as computer courses on how to use the computer basics, internet, Microsoft office, and software skills.

Along a side with these programs there is always a psychological support offered by a full time psychologist located in the center during working hours to support any need.
