I lived a happy life until I got married young. Before my husband died we only had one child, after his death I decided to rely on myself and dedicate my whole life to my son because he was left with nothing. I needed to find a job in order to live, but I could not leave my son alone, nor did I complete my education to get a job with a good salary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\ndecided to create things by crocheting, through selling hats made from wool I\nslowly started collecting enough money with which I was able to buy a house for\nme and my son. When the Syrian crisis started our lives began to turn into\nhell. My son, whom I was living for, died. I was first displaced inside Syria\nand after the crisis escalated, I moved to Arsal, alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\narrived in Lebanon a single broken woman. I had nothing. I did not know what\nwill happen to my future. What will I do? How will I live? Where? After a\nwhile, I learned about the existence of the camps through one of my relatives\nand decided to move to one. After a period of time, I got a job with salary, it\nwas better than nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When\nI found out SB\u2019s empowerment center I knew I wanted to register and attend\ncrochet classes, my favorite subject. Soon I wanted to to learn something new,\nso I enrolled myself in sewing classes. I want to get a machine at a cheap\nprice so I can work on it and support myself, so I do not need anyone\nanymore.  Besides learning new subjects,\nI got used to go to SB\u2019s center and see new people or friends I\u2019ve met; I can\nalso express what\u2019s bothering me and therefore relieve some of the heaviness on\nme even if it is only a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai v\u00e9cu une vie heureuse jusqu’\u00e0 ce que je me marie jeune. Avant la mort de mon mari, nous n’avions qu’un enfant. Apr\u00e8s sa mort, j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de compter sur moi-m\u00eame et de consacrer toute ma vie \u00e0 mon fils, car il ne me restait plus rien. Je devais trouver un emploi pour vivre, mais je ne pouvais pas laisser mon fils seul, ni terminer mes \u00e9tudes pour obtenir un emploi bien r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er des objets en faisant du crochet.\nEn vendant des chapeaux en laine, j’ai lentement commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 collecter\nsuffisamment d’argent pour me permettre d’acheter une maison pour moi et mon\nfils. Lorsque la crise syrienne a commenc\u00e9, nos vies ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 se\ntransformer en enfer. Mon fils, pour qui je vivais, est mort. J’ai d’abord \u00e9t\u00e9\nd\u00e9plac\u00e9 \u00e0 l’int\u00e9rieur de la Syrie et, apr\u00e8s l’\u00e9volution de la crise, je suis\nparti seul \u00e0 Arsal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je suis arriv\u00e9 au Liban, une  seule et bris\u00e9e. Je n’avais rien Je ne savais\npas ce qui allait arriver pour mon avenir. Que vais-je faire? Comment vais-je\nvivre? O\u00f9? Apr\u00e8s un moment, j’ai appris l’existence de ces camps par l’un de\nmes proches et j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de m’installer dans l’un d’entre eux. Apr\u00e8s un\ncertain temps, j’ai trouv\u00e9 un travail r\u00e9mun\u00e9r\u00e9, c’\u00e9tait mieux que rien. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quand j\u2019ai d\u00e9couvert le centre d\u2019autonomisation de SB,\nje savais que je voulais m’inscrire et assister \u00e0 des cours de crochet, mon\nhobbie pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e. Le plus t\u00f4t possible, je voulais apprendre quelque chose de\nnouveau, alors je me suis inscrite \u00e0 des cours de couture. Je veux acheter une\nmachine \u00e0 bas prix pour pouvoir travailler dessus et subvenir \u00e0 mes propres\nbesoins, pour ne plus avoir besoin de personne. En plus d\u2019apprendre de nouveaux\nsujets, je me suis habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 aller dans le centre de SB et rencontrer de\nnouvelles personnes ou de nouveaux amis. Je peux aussi exprimer ce qui me\nd\u00e9range et soulager ainsi une partie de la lourdeur qui p\u00e8se sur moi, m\u00eame si\nce n\u2019est qu\u2019un peu.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
