Syrian refugee youth teaches SB Espoir volunteers Dabke!

Ever heard of Dabke? If not, you are missing out and should learn about this Levantine folk dance!

SB Espoir volunteers and youth at the Red Cross in Uccle

Every weekend, the SB Espoir team go to the reception centers to work with the youth, with an emphasis on making these experiences mutual learning for them.

So when one of the youth in the center of the Red Cross mentions that he would like to teach us Dabke dance, we couldn’t wait to start!

After half an hour of dancing and depleting our energy, the next challenge was the 1000 piece puzzle.

Like life, large puzzles can be solved and built alone, but working with others makes it worth it and easier.

Interested in getting involved with SB Espoir but can’t commit to volunteering? No worries, check out the different ways you can help on our website at https://sboverseas.org/en/volunteer/brussels/
