Whatever you want to call it – Bábovka, Gugelhupf, kuglóf, kuglof, kouglof, guguluf, kuglof, kugluh, Wacker, Wacka, babka, šarkelj, marble cake or Bundt cake – we’re all talking about a simple Eastern European Sunday afternoon treat.
Nothing sophisticated, but baked to be shared.
This June, test your baking skills, invite your friends and family & sign up for our first Bábovka Baking Challenge in Brussels.
… because sharing a cake peacefully with your family and friends counts among the basic human rights.

Rating rules: The cakes will be awarded a final mark out of 100, based on the assessment of other participants.

Please order & pay your drinks downstairs at the bar. The Sister Cafe is strictly organic, and no drinks bought from outside are allowed. Thank you for your understanding.
Do not have a bábovka form and still want to take part? Be creative or ask around. And in the end, what’s in a form? 😉

… and in case you feel this is not your cup of tea, psssst, don’t tell anybody, but for our charity Baking Challenge, you are allowed to bake/cook/prepare anything delicious. As long as your cake or dish is served in a round shape :), there are no restrictions on your imagination and your traditional or most favourite Sunday treats are very welcome!
