Last Sunday, SB Espoir headed as usual to the Fedasil centre in Neder-Over-Heembeck. This week, our volunteers and youth were all going together to the Urban Farm in the centre’s vicinity.
After our walk there, we were warmly welcomed by those running the farm. We started by introducing ourselves and mentioning our experiences with farms.
We then had a tour of the farm. We got to see the animals, including donkeys and chickens. We were also shown around the fields and learned about the different vegetables and herbs grown. The day ended with picking strawberries which we got to take home. Delicious!
Despite the rain and the mud, over twenty youth participated in the activity. Thank you to them for their lively spirits and to our volunteers for spending their Sunday with us.
