Brighten Their Future

Winter is here. It’s a time for celebration, love and spreading joy and hope.

Help us #BrightenTheirFuture this holiday season by supporting the work of SB OverSeas with refugee children, women and young people in Lebanon and Belgium:

  • Support the activities and workshops we do with refugee youth in Belgium, donate to the SB Espoir project by purchasing a hand-painted paperweight.

  • Support our campaigns and projects that fight against early marriage, purchase a doll hand made by the refugee women and youth in our empowerment programme in Lebanon.

  • Support our volunteer programme that brings together motivated young people from around the world to our centres in Lebanon and in Brussels, purchase a holiday greeting postcard.

  • Support the cost of materials and equipment for the empowerment programme at our centres in Lebanon, purchase a bag hand made by the women and youth in this programme.

Our catch-up schools provide educational opportunities for refugees who have no alternatives (Education). We partner with other charities to send clothing, footwear, toiletries, medical supplies and food to some of the most deprived camps in the Middle East (Safety). We operate centres with open-access training schemes, literacy and crafts programmes and life-skills courses to help women and teenage girls find ways to support themselves independently (Inspiration).

This doll as a symbol of the work we do empowering young girls with our education programs in the fight against the creation of a “lost generation.” By providing catch-up school accessible to young girls, we are providing them hope for a future that doesn’t resort to early marriage.

Read our comic series on early marriage for more information on the growing phenomenon for Syrian girls in refugee camps in Lebanon.

The dolls are also made by refugee women and youth in our empowerment programs in Lebanon, and the donation will support providing materials needed to continue these workshops.
